I remember you telling me that a traumatic event for a child, because they can't process it -- is in a "freeze frame." Just stuck there. That helped me understand why sometimes I couldn't stop acting like a two-year-old because I was a 2-year-old.

You told me I would make a great play therapist, because I so "get" little children. That meant so much to me.

I use something you did with troubled young people. When there is a paradox in someone's attitude, something that doesn’t make sense, you never said, "that's stupid." You would just begin to ask questions and explore about where that might be coming from.
